ABSTRACT

After two decades of independence, Slovak Republic achieved in the field of foreign policy results which may not be overlooked and placed itself among the most successful countries in the world despite the fact that in the beginning it did not look so well. Achievements of Slovak Republic, such as membership in EU, NATO or OECD did not happen by chance. Diplomacy had to learn to communicate intensively, coordinate its actions and at the same time build the trust by its actions. All of this would not be possible without a political will. When integration engines in Slovakia finally ignited, they showed their strength. Today, Slovak Republic is recognized as a trusted partner who not only enjoys benefits of memberships in global organizations but also brings issues on the table, expresses its position and offers solutions.
